Landshark Pizza


I have tried pizza all over, but I honestly have to say this is one of the best.
We were not sure which pizza to try, so decided to order 5 small pizzas and an appetizer so we could sample the different pizzas. We figured what we would need a togo box, but the pizzas were so great we finished them all.
We tried the Landshark Eggs appetizer, which are a cheese blend with pepper deep fried. WOW! They are great! For the pizzas we ordered The Landshark-signature pizza, Supreme, Buffalo Chicken, White and Cordon Bleu. They were all so good that I had a hard time picking the best one... so I just went with The Landshark.
The place is great for adults and kids alike. Plenty of TVs for sports, arcade for the kids. We happened to visit before tourist season on a Tuesday around 1pm and the place was not very busy, but from the few folks we talked to, the place is buzzing every evening and during tourist season it's always busy pretty much anytime of day. The good news is that the staff can get those pizzas out fairly quick.

Charlie's Burger Bar

The Charlie’s Burger Bar is located on the grounds of the popular Mexican eatery Crab Island Cantina at Harbor Walk Village in Destin.

You enter the Cantina complex, then inside another set of doors into the cozy, clubby atmosphere of the Burger Bar. There are TVs everywhere; the walls are brick, with sports, liquor, and beer signs, photos and assorted blue-collar touches. 

As the name indicates, the burger is the star at Charlie’s. However, there are some non-burger choices on the menu, and a meal can be made from one of the “without the bun” selections. If you came for a burger, you can choose one of the specialties, or build your own with the user friendly five-step guide. There is also a kids’ menu.

A burger is a substantial meal, but we wanted to sample one of the apps. I went with a co-worker, and he ordered the Bourbon chicken wings and Jambalaya. 

Other starter/bar snack options are sautéed edamame, chicken wings, funky French fries (topped with chili, jalapeno cheese, chorizo or plain cheese), baked nachos, seafood and chorizo gumbo, chili beans with ground beef and steak, iceberg wedge salad with chorizo, and chicken Caesar.

Burgers can be ordered of Angus, bison, Wagyu beef, turkey, lamb, wild boar and ostrich. We stuck to the traditional, I ordered the Smokey Bones and my co-worker the Brunch Anyone. 

Mine came with Applewood smoked bacon, Jalapeno honey whiskey BB sauce and Swiss  with lettuce, tomato and onion. The burger was thick, cooked as ordered (medium), the challah firm and buttery, and I had to cut it in two. There were seasoned fries on the side. Other side options are onion rings, baked beans, mac and cheese, potato salad, cole slaw, and sautéed vegetables.

My co-worker got his medium.. Not sure if he should have had that for breakfast instead, as it includes a fried egg along with hash brown, bacon and Cheddar cheese.

Charlie’s offers three traditional desserts - bread pudding, cheesecake and key lime pie. There are also ice cream and fruit shakes for all ages, and some for adults, with various liqueurs and spirits. We were full, and could not finish all that we ordered. Can't wait to make it out there again...

Fudpucker’s Beachside Bar & Grill  has two area locations. One in Destin, and one in Fort Walton Beach on Okaloosa Island, both locally owned and operated. Great food and a fun atmosphere. There motto is “Food, Fun, and Friends”.




Callahan’s

Callahan’s is located in Downtown Destin on the North side of Scenic Hwy 98. They have a huge selection of fresh made sandwiches, fresh grilled burgers and steaks, and a great kid’s menu. Voted Best of The Emerald Coast 2011 by Emerald Coast Magazine.




Gilligan’s Seafood

After a long day in the sun, take the family to Gilligan’s. Located on Harbor Boulevard in Destin, Gilligan’s has one of the most beautiful views in Destin and a spacious covered deck and patio. They prepare fresh, local seafood, caught right in the Gulf.

This is a great family fun place! Food is great and environment and staff are very casual and fun. The interior is decked out with old license plates and memorabilia from the movie Forrest Gump. Run, Forrest, Run!
